Storage Size Calculator Dubai

Estimate the storage unit size you need in cubic meters (CBM) based on your property and what you plan to store.

Estimate Storage Size

Results are approximate CBM and suggested unit size for Dubai storage.

How to choose the right storage size in Dubai

Storage is usually sold by square feet or CBM. Overestimating wastes money; underestimating means a second trip. This calculator helps you pick a practical starting size.

Boxes vs furniture

Furniture takes more volume than packed cartons of the same “room count”.

Short vs long term

Longer stays may unlock better monthly rates — ask about 3–12 month plans.

Pickup service

Door-to-storage pickup is ideal during renovations or between lease dates.

Dubai storage size calculator (CBM guide)

Our storage size calculator Dubai converts home size and contents into an estimated cubic meter (CBM) requirement so you can reserve the right unit. Whether you need short-term storage between leases or longer storage during travel, starting with the right size avoids paying for empty air or running out of space.

How this storage size calculator works

Select what you are storing from (studio to villa or small office), how much of the home you are keeping (a few items, about half, or most contents), duration, and access needs. Extras such as large furniture, appliances, climate preference, and pickup all influence the suggested CBM and guide monthly cost.

Simple CBM planning formula

  • Start with a typical volume for the property type
  • Multiply by how much you are storing (few items / half / most)
  • Increase the estimate if large furniture or appliances are included
  • Round up slightly so boxes can be stacked safely with aisle space

Example thinking: a 1-bedroom with about half the contents often needs a small–medium unit, while a full 3-bedroom or villa usually needs a large or XL bay. Always leave a little walkway so you can retrieve seasonal items without unpacking everything.

Common Dubai storage unit sizes

  • Small locker / closet — a few boxes and seasonal items
  • Small–medium unit — studio or partial 1-bedroom contents
  • Medium unit — 1–2 bedroom furniture and boxes
  • Large unit — 2–3 bedroom apartment contents
  • XL / warehouse bay — villa or office storage

Dubai storage tips

Use sealed plastic bins for documents and fabrics in humid months. Raise cardboard boxes on pallets if your facility allows. Photograph high-value items and keep an inventory list. If you are between villa and apartment leases, combine moving and storage with one provider so pickup, storage, and redelivery are coordinated.

When to ask for a site survey

If you have pianos, safes, large wardrobes, or many appliances, ask Ezy Movers for a survey before booking. Volume estimates are guides; a quick inventory prevents under-booking.

CBM vs square feet: what Dubai storage ads mean

Some facilities quote square feet of floor area; movers and international shippers think in cubic meters. A tall unit can hold more CBM than a wide but low locker with the same floor area. When comparing prices, ask whether the quote includes aisle space, climate control, and insurance. Climate-controlled rooms cost more but protect wood furniture, electronics, and documents in Dubai’s heat and humidity.

Short-term vs long-term storage decisions

Short-term storage (a few weeks to three months) is common between lease end and villa handover, during renovations, or while waiting for furniture delivery. Longer contracts often reduce the monthly rate. If you only need a few boxes, a locker may be enough; if you are storing a full apartment, plan for furniture height and mattresses so you do not under-book.

Combine storage with a local move using the Dubai moving cost calculator when pickup and redelivery matter.
