Irish Customs and Transfer of Residence
Personal belongings brought in when you transfer your normal residence to Ireland may qualify for relief from customs duty and VAT. Relief is administered by Irish Revenue and typically requires evidence that you lived outside the EU for a qualifying period, that the goods were owned and used by you before the move, and a detailed inventory. Documents to have ready: passport copy, Irish visa or proof of right to reside, PPS number where issued, detailed inventory list, proof of your Irish address, and evidence of your previous UAE residence such as a tenancy contract or employment letter.
